From a plant physiology perspective, this ensures excellent cob filling and high grain density (test weight), which are critical factors for storage and logistics.

Biological resilience as the foundation of defense

The agronomic value of Arobaz is rooted in its genetically programmed tolerance to key phytopathogens. Under current climate conditions, where the risk of fungal infections is increasing, the hybrid demonstrates strong resistance to two primary threats:

• Helminthosporiosis: Syngenta's breeding allows the plant to effectively suppress the development of leaf spot diseases, preserving photosynthetic leaf area during the critical grain-filling stages.
• Fusarium ear rot: Resistance to this pathogen protects the harvest from mycotoxin accumulation, which directly impacts grain quality and market value.

Operational characteristics

With a growing season of 100–110 days, Arobaz is classified as a mid-early hybrid capable of efficiently utilizing moisture during the first half of the season. The FAO rating (90–1240 in this specific classification system) makes the maturation process predictable.
