Chrysanthemum Zulfia

Professional choice for the fresh market

The 'Zulfiya' chrysanthemum, developed by the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is a high-performance cultivar designed specifically for the fresh-cut flower market. Being an indeterminate type, it requires a precise trellising and pruning strategy, allowing growers to maximize yield per square meter in protected environments.

Key biological resistance features

For large-scale operations, 'Zulfiya' stands out due to its inherent resistance to major pathogens, significantly reducing the necessity for intensive chemical protocols:

• Resistance to Wilt: The variety shows remarkable tolerance to Verticillium and Fusarium wilt, common soil-borne diseases that often jeopardize greenhouse profitability.
• Viral Immunity: Natural resistance to Tomato Mosaic Virus simplifies phytosanitary management in the greenhouse.
• Fungal Defense: Built-in protection against Cladosporium allows for a more flexible and eco-friendly fungicide application schedule.

Operational recommendations: This variety is best suited for growers looking to reduce overhead costs related to plant protection while maintaining high market standards. Because of its indeterminate growth habit, 'Zulfiya' demands systematic disbudding and support, which integrates perfectly into standard greenhouse management cycles. In practice, this variety ensures a consistent supply of uniform, high-quality blooms that withstand long-distance transport, making it an excellent candidate for wholesale distribution and retail chains.
