BAŞKIRIA'S CHRYSANTHEMUMS

The Korean chrysanthemum variety 'Bashkiria' is a perennial plant developed in the Republic of Bashkortostan. This variety is distinguished by its high decorative value and resistance to adverse weather conditions, making it ideal for cultivation in the central regions of Russia. The bush is upright, about 77 cm high and 63 cm in diameter, with medium foliage and sturdy flower stems. The inflorescences are single-petalled, 7.5 cm in diameter, pale red in color, with a moderate aroma and low tendency to fade in the sun.

Flowering begins in late July and lasts for about two months, allowing one to enjoy the bright colors for a long time. The chrysanthemum forms a sprawling or compact bush, abundantly covered with heads of inflorescences consisting of numerous small flowers of various colors. Thanks to its frost resistance and ability to survive the winter well in open ground, the plant is widely used in horticulture for both group and single plantings, and is also excellent for cutting.

Breeding work to create this variety was carried out since 2005 using the method of free pollination and selection of hybrid seedlings, which allowed obtaining more than 70 promising forms adapted to local climatic conditions. Of these, 50 candidates successfully passed state variety testing and were included in the register, confirming their high economic and decorative qualities. Thus, the Korean chrysanthemum 'Bashkiria' combines resistance, decorativeness, and prolonged flowering, making it a valuable plant for gardeners.
