Chrysanthemum BAŞKIRIA'S CHRYSANTHEMUMS

Russian breeding excellence for your garden

The «Shikhany Bashkirii» chrysanthemum is a standout product from the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Unlike imported greenhouse hybrids that often struggle with variable climates, this variety was specifically developed to combine compact, decorative beauty with robust hardiness.

Why this variety stands out

• Distinctive Pompon Form: The flowers are characterized by dense, perfectly spherical blossoms with a 5–10 cm diameter. The deep red color remains vivid throughout the blooming cycle.
• Winter Resilience: Designed for harsh environments, this variety features high frost resistance, significantly reducing the need for intensive winter protection or indoor storage.
• Extended Bloom Time: With a bloom duration exceeding 40 days, it offers one of the most reliable and long-lasting displays in its class.

Cultivation and Practical Application

Standing between 30–60 cm tall, «Shikhany Bashkirii» is a highly versatile mid-sized perennial. It performs exceptionally well in partial shade, where many other ornamental chrysanthemums would lose their color intensity or vigor. The scent is moderate, making these flowers ideal for indoor arrangements without overwhelming the senses.

Strengths: Exceptional adaptability to partial shade, high frost tolerance, and a dense, structural flower head that resists drooping.

Considerations: While the stems are sturdy, their medium height makes them a great candidate for protected garden spots or mixed borders. They are equally suited for floral arrangements and garden decoration, providing a professional look with minimal maintenance effort.

This variety is the optimal choice for gardeners who prioritize reliability and aesthetics, offering a refined, long-blooming addition to any landscape that faces fluctuating temperature conditions.
