This variety was obtained at the North Caucasus Regional Research Institute of Horticulture and Viticulture (Krasnodar) from pollination of the 'Gedelfingen' cherry variety with the 'Daiber Black' variety. It was accepted for state variety testing in the North Caucasus region in 1989. Authors: M.A. Kolesnikov, E.M. Alekhina.
Medium-growing tree with a spherical, spreading, moderately dense crown. One-year-old shoots have a strong gray coating. Buds are medium-sized; vegetative buds are elongated and pointed, generative buds are oval. Leaves are egg-shaped, large (19 x 9 cm), dark green, without anthocyanin, apex strongly pointed, base heart-shaped, leaf margin doubly-lobed with large teeth, upper surface matte and slightly wavy, lower surface slightly pubescent. Petiole is short, thick, with intense coloration along its entire length; glands are arranged in pairs on the petiole, large and strongly colored. Flowers are arranged in clusters of 2-5, very large, saucer-shaped, petals loosely arranged, oval, white, stamens short and long, stigma long, positioned both above and below the anthers, calyx bell-shaped, calyx lobes without teeth, slightly colored. Fruit set is concentrated on flowering spurs of various ages and one-year-old shoots.
Fruits are fairly large, average weight 7.5 g, maximum 8.2 g, broadly round (2.3 x 2.5 x 2.1), base rounded, shallow and small depression, covering color dark red, flesh light pink, medium density, juicy, juice light pink. Pedicel is above-average size, medium thickness, easily detaches from fruit with dry separation. Fruits are attractive and tasty (taste rating 4.5 points). They contain 15.3% dry matter, 10.4% sugars, 0.64% acids, 6.6 mg/100g ascorbic acid. Pit is oval, small, occupies 1.2% of the fruit's total weight, easily separates from flesh. Fruits have good dessert quality and are suitable for technical processing.
Flowering occurs in medium time, fruit ripening is medium-early (beginning of June). It enters fruiting at age five. Self-sterile.
The variety is relatively resistant to winter abnormal temperatures, moderately resistant to spring frosts and fungal diseases. Yield in favorable years during full fruiting — 12.0 t/ha.
Advantages: high productivity, early ripening, high fruit quality.
Disadvantages: wide crown, insufficient resistance to coccomycosis.
