Wild cabbage Globus

Czech Breeding for Your Garden

The Globus kohlrabi variety from the Czech company Moravoseed is a staple in vegetable growing that has long established its position among both professional growers and home gardeners. This variety has proven to be a reliable choice for those who value predictable results and high product quality when farming in temperate climates.

Agronomic Profile and Key Features

Globus is classified as a mid-early kohlrabi cabbage variety. Its primary value lies in the high uniformity of the bulbs, making it ideal for both market sales and home consumption. Key characteristics favored by agronomists include:

• Excellent taste: The flesh is tender and juicy, lacking coarse fibers, which is essential for culinary applications.
• Stress tolerance: The variety shows good adaptability to temperature fluctuations, which is particularly relevant in the variable climate of Central and Eastern Europe.
• Marketability: The stem-bulb has a perfect rounded shape and a smooth surface, which significantly simplifies post-harvest preparation.

Moravoseed's Market Reputation

For decades, the Czech brand Moravoseed has been investing in vegetable breeding, focusing on European quality standards. Unlike many modern hybrids that require rigid intensive cultivation protocols, the Globus variety is forgiving of minor maintenance errors while maintaining its varietal characteristics. This makes it an optimal solution for farms targeting the fresh produce market and aiming for eco-friendly yields.

When growing Globus, experts recommend paying close attention to irrigation, as moisture deficiency during the active bulb-forming stage can lead to cracking or tissue coarsening. Adhering to an optimal planting pattern ensures maximum marketable yield from every square meter of land.
