Mock Orange Apple Blossom

Aesthetic and Functional Landscape Design

The 'Yablonevy Tsvet' (Apple Blossom) mock-orange, a selection from the N.V. Tsitsin Main Botanical Garden, is considered a standard for decorative shrubs in temperate climates. Unlike wild varieties, this cultivar is valued for its pronounced double blooms and an intense fragrance that evokes the freshness of a spring orchard.

Agricultural Specifications and Field Use

• Landscaping: With a sprawling habit spanning 1.5 to 2 meters in width, this variety is ideal for creating dense hedges. Its dimensions allow it to serve as a focal point in group plantings or as an effective screen for utility areas and space zoning.
• Bloom Utility: The flowers, measuring 4–5 cm in diameter, feature high petal density. The strong fragrance makes 'Yablonevy Tsvet' a practical choice for recreational zones; planting it near gazebos or patios ensures an immersive aromatic experience during the peak blooming season.
• Maintenance and Lifecycle: The plant requires significant sunlight—shady conditions lead to sparse flowering and a loose crown structure. Sanitary and rejuvenating pruning is essential to maintain the shrub's architectural form. In agricultural and horticultural settings, this plant is favored for its winter hardiness and adaptability to local soil types.

Recommended for tiered landscape compositions. When planting, it is crucial to maintain proper spacing: the crown width of up to 2 meters necessitates sufficient room for branch development and airflow, which is critical for preventing fungal pathogens.
