Tonus

The Basil variety "Tonus" is a green plant with a rich aroma and juicy green leaf coloring. This variety is characterized by high productivity and a rich content of essential oils and phytoncides, which give it not only a pleasant aroma but also beneficial properties for health. The plant height reaches 55-60 cm, which makes it convenient for growing both in open ground and at home, for example, on a balcony or windowsill.

Basil "Tonus" is widely used in cooking both fresh and dried. It is excellent as a seasoning for meat and fish dishes, as well as for pickling. Thanks to its expressive aroma and taste, this basil variety is an indispensable ingredient in various culinary experiments, especially it goes well with tomatoes.

For successful basil "Tonus" growing, it is recommended to choose warm, light, and humus-rich soil. The optimal planting method is through seedlings: seeds are sown at a depth of 0.5 cm at a soil temperature of +12–+15°C, the first seedlings appear in 10-12 days. Seedlings are pricked into 5x5 cm pots, and then planted at a distance of 25 cm from each other with row spacing of 30-40 cm. In hot weather, the plant needs regular watering for the active growth of young leaves. The vegetative period is 70-75 days.
