Description
ZAZERSKIY 85 is a mid-late spring barley variety, distinguished by high yield and valuable brewing qualities. It belongs to the intensive type and is characterized by medium plant height with sturdy straw, ensuring high resistance to lodging and shattering. The vegetation period ranges from 80 to 100 days, allowing the variety to be used in various climatic conditions. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 38 to 46.8 grams; the grain is medium-sized, rhombic in shape, and yellow.
The variety possesses good resistance to drought and certain diseases, such as powdery mildew and dwarf rust, but is moderately susceptible to powdery bunt and net form of net form of spot. To achieve high and stable yields, it is recommended to sow ZAZERSKIY 85 on fertile, well-cultivated soils with a slightly acidic or neutral reaction, preferably after root crops and grain legumes.
The grain of the variety contains a high level of protein—about 13.4%, as well as 60.2% starch, making it particularly valuable for the brewing industry. The variety is capable of yielding up to 76 centners per hectare, confirming its economic efficiency and ecological plasticity. Thanks to these characteristics, ZAZERSKIY 85 is widely used in the regions of the North-West, Central, Volga-Vyatsk, and Middle Volga districts.
