The winter barley variety 'Samson' is a medium-late, multi-row variety of Hordeum vulgare L., belonging to the pseudostriatum subspecies. The plant is medium-to-tall, with a height of 90 to 105 cm, and has a semi-prostrate or prostrate habit. The ear is pyramidal or cylindrical, of medium density, six-rowed, and open, with long barbed awns and without anthocyanin pigmentation at the tips. The grain is of medium size, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 39 to 47 grams. The sheaths of the lower leaves have weak pubescence, and the waxy bloom on the sheath and ear is absent or very weak.
