Astilbe Rubin is a perennial decorative bush that attracts attention with its long, abundant, and fluffy inflorescences of rich ruby color. The inflorescences are covered with compact shoots, and their color lasts for about a month, starting from mid-July. The leaves are dark green, lacy, pinnately leafed, resembling ferns: they are wrinkled, lobed, and have a serrated edge.
The plant usually reaches a height of 70-90 cm, and the width is about 50 cm. The bush is dense, does not require support, and looks great both alone and in groups with other perennials and ferns. It is resistant to diseases and pests, as well as tolerates various soil conditions: from loamy to clay soils, provided there is sufficient moisture and fertility.
For successful cultivation of Rubin, a moist substrate with good permeability must be provided. It is recommended to use peat or composted material, as well as mulch the soil around the plant to prevent it from drying out. Rhizomes are planted in spring to a depth of 8-10 cm and left in the ground for the winter; if necessary, the rhizome can be divided every 3-4 years to maintain health and enhance flowering. The plant prefers partial shade or shade, but can also grow in sunny areas with regular watering.
Astilbe Rubin is widely used in landscape design: it can be placed along the shores of water bodies, in flower beds, borders, as well as in mixed border compositions. Due to its bright and fragrant inflorescences, this variety is often included in bouquets and decorative compositions. In combination with other flowering perennials, it creates rich and picturesque color transitions, making any garden or residential plot more attractive and diverse.
