Aster Snow White

Technical Analysis of the 'Belosnezhka' Variety

The peony-flowered aster 'Belosnezhka' is a result of advanced selection efforts by the Panfilovskaya Research Station and associated breeding firms. From a botanical engineering perspective, this variety is optimized for structural integrity and ornamental quality in temperate climates.

Structural Specifications

• Stem Mechanics: The plant reaches a height of 50–80 cm. This height-to-strength ratio provides a sufficient lever arm to support the heavy inflorescence without lodging, even under windy conditions.
• Inflorescence Geometry: With a diameter of 8–10 cm, the peony-shaped bloom is characterized by a high density of ligulate florets. This tight structural packing enhances post-harvest longevity and ensures the flowers retain their shape during transport.
• Genetic Consistency: The pure white pigmentation is a result of selective breeding to eliminate anthocyanin expression in the petals.

Agronomic Application

Designed for two primary applications—commercial cut flower production and landscape design—'Belosnezhka' acts as a reliable middle-tier plant in flower beds. Its upright habit of 50–80 cm makes it ideal for mixed borders where aesthetic clarity is required. In a cut flower context, the variety exhibits high turgor retention. To maintain maximum bloom diameter, it is recommended to ensure adequate spacing between plants to prevent excessive humidity and ensure optimal airflow around the root zone, reducing the incidence of fungal pathogens.
