The primary threat to the plant comes from fungal diseases, which occur due to over-saturation of the soil or poor air circulation around the leaf rosette.

Root rots are the most dangerous pathogens, capable of destroying a healthy specimen in a short period under high humidity conditions.

Among pests, cruciferous flea beetles, typical for all members of the Brassicaceae family, can parasitize the plant. They can damage young leaves, thereby reducing photosynthetic activity.

To prevent infestation, the use of preventative fungicides at early development stages is recommended. Chemical treatment should be targeted to avoid disturbing the development of this rare plant.

It is necessary to avoid contact between leaves and the soil by using fine gravel mulch, which also helps prevent the development of mold fungi.
