Yoki F1 (KS 2446 F1) is an early hybrid variety of bush-type zucchini developed by Kitano Seeds from Japan and the Netherlands. It is an open-type plant, compact and upright, which facilitates harvesting due to the absence of large leaves that cover the fruits. The vegetation period is 35-45 days, allowing for planning of harvest and marketing, as well as transportation over long distances. The hybrid is characterized by high productivity, achieving yields up to 130 tons per hectare even with passive irrigation, and fruiting over a three-month period.
The fruits of Yoki zucchini have a regular cylindrical shape and light green color with uniform size. The flesh is white, tender, and has good flavor qualities. Genetically, overgrowth and yellowing of fruits are excluded, ensuring their attractive market appearance. Due to its high transportability and versatility, zucchini are suitable for fresh consumption as well as various processing methods, including boiling, frying, and canning.
Yoki F1 hybrid is highly resistant to major zucchini viral diseases such as cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV), watermelon mosaic virus (WMV), and powdery mildew (Px). Additionally, the plant tolerates high temperatures and stressful conditions, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions. The optimal sowing density is no more than 15,000 seeds per hectare, which contributes to achieving maximum yield and product quality.
