Meri Gold F1 zucchini is a very early bush hybrid with a vegetation period of about 40 days, developed by the French breeding company Clause. The plant is compact and open, with high productivity. The fruits have a regular cylindrical shape, 18-20 cm long and 4-5 cm in diameter, bright golden-yellow in color. The flesh is white, tender in texture, with a very small seed cavity, making the fruits especially attractive to consumers. Even when overgrown, the fruits do not lose their commercial and taste qualities, do not become tough, and retain their color during processing.
The Meri Gold F1 hybrid exhibits high resistance to yellow mosaic virus and bacterial leaf spot, ensuring a stable yield with proper care. The plant continues to bear fruit until the onset of autumn frosts, provided adequate mineral fertilizers are applied and water requirements are met. Up to 4-7 fruits form in each leaf axil, so frequent harvesting is recommended to maintain the quality and appearance of the zucchini.
This hybrid is versatile in use: its fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, processing into pickles, and canning. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to plant zucchini after predecessors such as potatoes, cabbage, onions, root crops, legumes, and leafy greens, avoiding areas where cucumbers or other squash plants previously grew to reduce disease risk.
