Description Guttino
The winter wheat hybrid Guttino is a low-growing plant reaching 110-115 cm in height with a medium-late maturity. Due to its compact form, it does not require growth regulators during autumn and spring periods, simplifying agronomic practices. The hybrid forms long, well-filled ears weighing 1.5 to 2.0 grams, which contributes to high grain quality and stable yields.

Guttino exhibits high yield potential, consistently exceeding standard benchmarks by 25% during trials. In the Polissia and Forest-Steppe zones, average yields reach 51.0 to 92.3 centners per hectare. The hybrid demonstrates high compensatory ability, manifesting as vigorous tillering and formation of large grains under sparse sowing, positively affecting yield uniformity. It is recommended to sow Guttino on well-prepared soils following quality predecessors at a seeding rate of 200-230 seeds per square meter.

Special attention has been given to the hybrid’s resistance to adverse factors. Guttino shows very high winter hardiness, resistance to lodging, and medium-high resistance to drought. Additionally, it is resistant to several diseases, including rhiophytophthora, rust, powdery mildew, brown leaf rust, and snow mold. The grain of this hybrid possesses excellent baking and feeding properties, contains a low percentage of protein, and its amylograph viscosity and gelatinization temperature are at a high level, making it versatile for various uses.
