The barley variety 'Chudoviy' is high-yielding and intended for intensive farming conditions in the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine. It has been included in the State Register of Plant Varieties since 2002 and is distinguished by its high yield potential, reaching 85-90 c/ha. In variety trials from 1999 to 2001, the variety ranked among the leaders in yield, surpassing the national standard Odessa 115 by 13.7%, which confirms its high productivity and adaptability to regional conditions.
'Chudoviy' belongs to the brewing direction and is characterized by tolerance to infections of cereal diseases. The variety exhibits resistance to diseases, reducing the risk of yield losses and enhancing production stability. It is sensitive to the application of mineral fertilizers, which allows for effective use of agronomic practices to maximize yield.
In addition, the barley grains of 'Chudoviy' have high feed potential, serving as a concentrated feed for various domestic animals. They contain more than 75% carbohydrates, primarily easily digestible starch, up to 12% protein, and 2.1% fat, ensuring balanced nutrition and contributing to improved animal productivity.
