Fandaga barley is a high-quality winter barley variety developed for beer production. It is characterized by unique malting properties with very high dry matter extractability, providing excellent brewing characteristics. The grain of this variety is marked by high purity and very low protein content, which is particularly important for the brewing industry.
The variety exhibits high resistance to diseases, as well as lodging resistance of stems and ears, contributing to stable yields. Fandaga is highly drought-tolerant and suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones, including the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions. Its medium-late maturation allows efficient use in different agroclimatic conditions.
The recommended seeding rate is 3-4.5 million seeds per hectare, with a potential yield of up to 8 tons per hectare. For storage, optimal conditions are a temperature range of +7 to +10°C and humidity not exceeding 10%. The variety is produced by Saaten Union and was registered in 2019.
