Apeldoorn

The tulip Apeldoorn belongs to the Darwin hybrid group, characterized by its large and striking flowers with a diameter exceeding 10 cm. The plant grows to a height of 60-80 cm, and its vivid crimson cups are noticeable even from afar, making it an attractive element for flowerbeds and floral compositions. Apeldoorn is distinguished by its sturdy stem and relatively early flowering, occurring in spring from March to April, ensuring a prolonged decorative period. Due to its high resistance to insects and diseases, this variety retains freshness and attractiveness both in the garden and when cut, making it popular for creating bouquets.

For successful cultivation of Apeldoorn tulips, it is recommended to plant bulbs in September to early October in moist, well-drained soil with neutral or slightly acidic pH. It is important to choose a level area to avoid water stagnation and bulb rot. The planting depth should be about 10 cm, and the spacing between plants should be no less than 20 cm. During the vegetative period, regular but moderate watering and feeding with complex fertilizers are required, promoting vigorous growth and annual abundant flowering.

The Apeldoorn variety is also available in a double-flowered form, Double Beauty of Apeldoorn, which features striking multi-flowered buds with bright yellow and orange petals marked with red veins. These tulips reach a height of up to 45 cm, and their flowering lasts 2-3 weeks in the latter half of spring. The double-flowered variety is widely used not only in garden compositions and park landscapes but also for decorating monuments, and is also grown in pots and for cutting, expanding its application possibilities.
