Tulip Oxford

The Professional Standard for Forcing

The «Oxford» tulip is a classic Darwin hybrid, widely regarded by commercial growers for its consistent performance and reliability. It is a go-to choice for greenhouses where predictability of harvest timing and stem quality are essential for business profitability.

Key Agronomic Features

• Structure: With a height of 45–55 cm, it produces sturdy stems that hold up perfectly in bouquets and floral arrangements.
• Disease Resistance: The variety exhibits strong genetic resistance to the Tulip Breaking Virus, significantly reducing crop losses during high-density indoor cultivation.
• Bloom Profile: The classic goblet-shaped flower, reaching 10–12 cm, retains its form exceptionally well during post-harvest storage and transport.

Cultivation and Utilization Scenarios

The primary use for «Oxford» is large-scale forcing for seasonal demand. Its ability to thrive in regulated greenhouse environments allows producers to optimize planting density and energy input. Beyond commercial forcing, this variety is highly favored in landscape design for its vibrant red and yellow hues, which provide excellent color saturation in public parks and municipal flower beds. Its resilience also makes it a top candidate for container gardening, providing a long-lasting, professional look for urban patio displays and terraces.
