Description Kharkiv AVIAC
The Kharkiv AVIAC wheatgrass variety is a medium-early spring type, intended for bread and other products made from wheatgrass. The vegetation period of this variety is approximately 91 days, and plant height reaches about 100 cm. A spike length of about 13 cm ensures high yield, which under favorable conditions may reach 8.5 tons per hectare, with actual yield varying between 4.21 and 6.88 tons per hectare.

The variety exhibits high resistance to various stress factors, diseases, and pests. On the resistance scale, where the maximum score is 9 points, the variety received high ratings for resistance to wind (9), drought (8), root diseases (9), powdery mildew (9), leaf septoria (8), and brown leaf rust (8). These characteristics make Kharkiv AVIAC a reliable choice for cultivation in regions with varying climatic conditions, including Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia.

The grain of this variety has good baking and mixing properties. The grain density is 768 g/l, first-group gluten content is 22%, and flour strength reaches 196 conditional units. The overall baking quality score of the variety is 9 points, confirming its high quality for food use. It is recommended to sow this variety at the earliest possible dates, with a seeding rate of 4.5-5.0 million seeds per hectare, and in southern Ukraine, sowing can be conducted during so-called 'February windows'.
