Tomato ZEBRA HEART

High-Yielding Large-Fruited Tomato for Professional Growers

The «Zubr Heart» (Serdtse Zubra) tomato is a specialized choice for agricultural producers focusing on high-value, large-fruited yields. Developed by the Vavilov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources, this indeterminate variety is engineered for those who prioritize both production scale and individual fruit quality.

Operational Use in Farming

• Greenhouse Management: As an indeterminate variety, it requires systematic trellising and pruning to 1–2 stems. This management practice is crucial for channeling nutrients into the heavy fruits, which consistently exceed 200 grams.
• Market Readiness: The variety offers excellent transportability compared to other heart-shaped cultivars. Its structural integrity makes it a reliable candidate for wholesale supply chains where appearance and weight are the primary benchmarks for pricing.
• Diversification: Available in both red and yellow types, the fruit allows growers to offer visually appealing produce in premium retail segments.

Agronomic Profile

With a maturity window of 120–130 days, «Zubr Heart» is best suited for long-cycle cultivation. Its heart-shaped morphology is not just aesthetic—it indicates a dense internal structure ideal for both fresh market sales and processing into high-quality juices or sauces. For optimal results, regular fertigation during the fruit-setting stage is recommended to ensure consistency in size and color development. This is a robust variety for operations that demand heavy-duty performance from their seed stock.
