Tomato Samotsvet

Early Harvest and Superior Shelf Life

The 'Samotsvet' tomato by Sedek is a strategic choice for growers prioritizing both early maturation and supply chain durability. With a growing cycle of up to 90 days, this variety effectively escapes peak periods of blight, making it a reliable performer even in challenging agricultural conditions.

Technical Advantages for Commercial Farming

• Rapid Maturation: Ready for harvest in under 90 days, providing an early-season market advantage.
• Extended Shelf Life: A standout feature—the fruit maintains its marketability and flavor for over 30 days post-harvest, a rarity for ultra-early varieties.
• Market Appeal: The unique pink and brown color profile creates a distinct visual premium at point-of-sale.

Operational Insights

Developed by the expert team at Sedek (including A.N. Lukyanenko and the Dubinin group), this variety is engineered for resilience. It responds well to intensive cultivation practices in both greenhouse and tunnel environments. Because the plants are compact, they are ideal for space-efficient planting layouts.

For growers, the 'Samotsvet' offers a practical solution to the logistical challenges of perishable goods. The combination of early harvest and 30+ day storage life allows for broader distribution and reduced post-harvest losses, making it an excellent candidate for local supply chains and farmer's markets requiring high-quality, durable produce.
