Tomato REVA

Engineering approach to yields: Vilmorin-Mikado genetics

The French breeding of Vilmorin-Mikado in the 'Reva' hybrid focuses on the balance between vigorous growth and stress tolerance. The indeterminate plant type requires training and pruning, but this structure ensures continuous fruiting throughout the season, which is critical for professional greenhouse operations.

Biological protection and reliability

The main focus of 'Reva' is genetic resistance. Mechanisms integrated into the genotype to combat Verticillium wilt, Fusarium wilt, and Tomato Mosaic Virus eliminate the need for aggressive fungicide application. The plant maintains leaf functionality even under peak load, which translates directly into uniform fruit development.

Technical fruit parameters

• Mass and calibration: An average weight of 100–150 grams is the “gold standard” for retail chains and the fresh produce market.
• Geometry: The round shape ensures dense packing, minimizing voids in the crate.
• Transportability: The firm skin and pulp structure allow the fruit to withstand long-distance logistics without losing marketability.

Maturation within 90 days allows for a precise supply chain schedule. 'Reva' is a tool for those who demand predictable results through intensive agronomy.
