Tomato Maxeza is a medium-maturing, indeterminate, truss-type hybrid of Dutch selection, developed by Enza Zaden. The plant has a stretched form, especially during the first three months of development, and an open habit. Leaves are medium-length and dark green. The truss is simple, with a thick peduncle that lacks a joint and retains freshness for a long time, ensuring reliable fruit attachment. Fruits are round or slightly flattened-round with slight ribbing on the shoulders, weighing 140–180 grams when standardized to 5 fruits per truss. Their color is bright red and uniform, while immature fruits are green. Fruits contain 3–4 seed chambers, contributing to their density and good storage life. Hybrid Maxeza is characterized by high yield and early fruiting, making it attractive for greenhouse cultivation, including glass and plastic greenhouses, as well as for light cultivation. The plant has strong growth vigor and heat tolerance, ensuring excellent fruit set even during hot periods. Fruits exhibit high density and resistance to cracking, significantly improving their transportability and storage stability. Tomato trusses are thick, without peduncle joints, simplifying harvest and reducing fruit damage. Maxeza has broad-spectrum resistance to major tomato diseases: tomato mosaic virus (multiple strains), cladosporiosis (5 races), Fusarium wilt (2 strains), and Fusarium crown and root rot. Additionally, the hybrid is moderately resistant to current powdery mildew caused by Oidium neolycopersici. Plant care is simplified due to few lateral branches, making tying and plant shaping easier. All these qualities make tomato Maxeza an excellent choice for commercial cultivation aimed at producing large, high-quality, and durable fruits.
