Tomato LEONARDO — an old family variety from the province of Potenza in Italy, which is quite rare. It is a medium-early indeterminate variety with a plant height of 1.5 to 1.7 meters, featuring high yield. The plant has large dark green leaves and simple inflorescences. The peduncle with a distinct joint ensures easy harvesting. The leaves are potato-like, giving the seedlings an attractive appearance.
The fruits of tomato LEONARDO have a round or slightly heart-shaped form, red in color, with a dense and juicy structure. Fruit mass varies from 400 to 500 grams, sometimes reaching 700 grams, while remaining uniform in size. Tomatoes have a rich tomato aroma and excellent flavor, making them versatile for use fresh in salads, as well as for making juices, pasta, and sauces. The number of chambers in the fruit ranges from 4 to 6.
The variety exhibits good resistance to diseases such as verticillium wilt, fusarium wilt, and tobacco mosaic virus. The yield of marketable fruits reaches 11–13.5 kg per square meter. Due to its characteristics and flavor qualities, tomato LEONARDO is an excellent choice for cultivation in various regions.
