Tomato L-52-18

Strategic versatility in tomato production

The L-52-18 variety is designed for growers who prioritize flexibility in crop management. Its genetic plasticity allows for diverse cultivation strategies, accommodating everything from determinate to indeterminate growth patterns. This enables farmers to adjust their agrotechnical operations—such as trellising and pruning—according to specific farm resources and greenhouse capacity.

Field operations and market advantages

• Short production cycle: With a ripening period of up to 90 days, L-52-18 is an effective solution for quick crop turnover, allowing farms to capture early-season market premiums.
• Market differentiation: The variety offers a wide spectrum of fruit sizes (20-40g to 80-100g) and colors (red, pink, yellow, orange), enabling producers to offer high-demand specialty mixed packs to retailers.
• Logistics readiness: Exceptional fruit firmness ensures excellent transportability, meaning these tomatoes can survive the supply chain from field to supermarket shelf with minimal spoilage or bruising.

In practice, L-52-18 is an ideal choice for operations focused on the fresh produce market. The ability to control the plant structure means that growers can scale labor costs effectively: keeping the plant compact in open fields or maximizing vertical space in protected structures. For farmers looking for a reliable, transport-resistant, and visually appealing crop, this variety provides a robust return on investment.
