Tomato Gvidon is a medium-maturing indeterminate hybrid, intended for cultivation in unheated plastic greenhouses. Fruit ripening occurs around day 114 after emergence of seedlings, allowing harvest in July-August. Plants of this variety reach a height of more than 150 centimeters and require training into a single stem with removal of suckers and tying to stakes for optimal growth and fruiting. Recommended planting scheme is 40x60 cm, seedlings are sown in early March, followed by transplanting into greenhouses in May. Tomato Gvidon fruits are flat-round, smooth, and bright red at full ripeness. Fruit weight varies from 130 to 170 grams, averaging about 150 grams. They are distinguished by high marketability, durability, and good transportability, making them suitable for fresh consumption in summer salads as well as for canning. Immature fruits have green color with a dark green spot at the base, which is a characteristic feature of the variety. Hybrid Gvidon exhibits high resistance to a range of diseases, including tomato mosaic virus, cladosporiosis, verticillium wilt, and fusarium wilt. This ensures stable fruit set even under unfavorable growing conditions. For successful plant development, loose soil and application of mineral fertilizers are required. Yield of the variety reaches 9.7 kg per square meter, making it an attractive choice for greenhouse farms.
