BARBOS

The Barbos tomato is an early-maturing, tall indeterminate variety, suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic and conventional greenhouses. The period from germination to the beginning of fruit ripening is 95-105 days. Plants reach a height of 1.5 to 1.8 meters and require mandatory support with stakes and formation into 1-2 stems with regular removal of suckers and old lower leaves to ensure optimal growth and fruiting. It is recommended to plant the plants in a checkerboard pattern with a density of 3-4 plants per square meter.

The fruits of the Barbos variety have a round shape, dense flesh, and an orange color when fully ripe. The average weight of the tomatoes is about 100-120 grams. They have a good tomato flavor with a slight acidity and a high beta-carotene content (about 1.45 mg%), making them suitable for fresh consumption and preparation of medicinal juice. 5-6 fruits form in a cluster, contributing to high yield.

The yield of this variety reaches 7-8 kg per square meter when proper agronomic practices are followed. To increase plant resistance to phytophthora, preventive treatments are recommended, starting at the end of June and repeating every two weeks. Special attention should be paid to protecting the clusters from damage, which helps preserve the quality and quantity of the harvest.
