SI EDISON

SI Edison is a mid-season linoleic-type sunflower hybrid developed by Syngenta. It is characterized by high yield potential and excellent drought resistance, allowing successful cultivation in various agroclimatic zones, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polesie. The hybrid demonstrates stable performance even under stress conditions, making it suitable for intensive cultivation technologies on fertile soils. The average vegetation period is 125-126 days, and plant height reaches 160-180 cm.

One of the key features of SI Edison is the high oil content of its seeds — oil content ranges from 52 to 54%, ensuring high economic efficiency of cultivation. The hybrid exhibits resistance to 7+ races of the sunflower moth (A-G+), significantly reducing the risk of damage from this pest. Additionally, the plant has a high pollen index and highly trifoliate leaves, which contribute to better water utilization and crop protection, enhancing product stability and quality.

The recommended planting density depends on moisture conditions: in areas with adequate moisture, it is optimal to plant 50-55 thousand plants per hectare, while in areas with limited moisture — 40-45 thousand plants per hectare. Due to its combination of high yield, resistance to diseases and adverse conditions, as well as high oil content, SI Edison is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain a stable and high-quality sunflower crop.
