PH 5004 R is a hybrid sunflower intended for oil production and characterized by high yield and resistance to adverse conditions. It exhibits high drought tolerance due to its well-developed taproot system capable of penetrating soil to depths of 2.5–3 meters, enabling the plant to access moisture even under low rainfall conditions. This makes the hybrid particularly suitable for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones with insufficient moisture. High yield potential and adaptability to various climatic conditions ensure stable harvests.

The hybrid PH 5004 R shows resistance to major sunflower diseases, including powdery mildew, phomopsis, phomosis, rust, and especially to foxtail — a parasitic weed that is a serious problem in southern and eastern regions. This hybrid is resistant to more than six foxtail biotypes, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss and allowing the use of modern protection technologies such as Clearfield and Evolighting.

Plants of this hybrid reach an average height of about 160–170 cm, ensuring optimal development and seed formation with high oil content, reaching 49–50%.
