Sunflower Marquis

Working with the "Markiz" hybrid

Choosing "Markiz" from the "Solnechnaya Strana" (Sunny Country) brand is a tactical decision for farmers who value predictability over risks. With a vegetation period of 110-120 days, it allows for seamless harvesting scheduling, avoiding the pressure of late autumn frost.

Why "Markiz" makes management easier

• Weed control: Complete compatibility with "Euro-Lightning" herbicide technology is a game-changer. It effectively clears fields from weeds without putting stress on the crop, ensuring the sunflower focuses on building yield rather than recovering from chemicals.
• Seed quality: The black seeds are well-calibrated, meaning they flow through seeding equipment without clogging or skipping. This guarantees uniform germination, which is the foundation of a successful crop.
• Oil content: The 45-50% oil content is not just a marketing claim—it holds up during lab tests at elevators, which directly impacts the bottom line and overall profitability of the harvest.

The hybrid shows great structural integrity in the field. It resists lodging, which makes the harvester operator’s job much easier and minimizes header losses. Even when harvest is delayed by weather, the seeds remain secure in the head. The team of originators, including Olga Belyaeva, Ilya Koshkarev, and Roman Nazarov, have clearly designed this for practical farming. Maintenance is straightforward; thanks to its high natural resistance to major diseases, you can optimize fungicide applications, saving on input costs without compromising plant health. For a farm owner, "Markiz" is a reliable, high-performance tool that delivers a consistent harvest season after season.
