NA Sunrise

NA Sunrise sunflower is a mid-season simple hybrid developed by the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Serbia and registered in the State Register of Ukraine in 2021. This hybrid is intended for cultivation using the SUMO technology and is oriented towards oil production. The vegetation period of the plants ranges from 108 to 113 days, enabling a stable harvest at optimal times. Plants reach an average height of 160-170 cm, and the head diameter varies from 21 to 25 cm, facilitating efficient harvest collection.

The NA Sunrise hybrid is characterized by high yield, reaching over 45 centners per hectare, and high oil content in seeds — from 49 to 50%. The thousand-seed weight is 70-75 grams, with a moisture content of 21-23%. Seeds have an elongated shape and a distinct black husk color, which simplifies their identification and processing. High germination energy and stable yield make this hybrid an attractive choice for farmers.

Special attention has been paid to the hybrid's resistance to major diseases and pests. NA Sunrise demonstrates resistance to powdery mildew, Phomopsis, Phomosis, rust, as well as to 7 races of the Volchak parasite, including some new forms. Additionally, the hybrid exhibits high drought, lodging, and shattering resistance, ensuring reliable and high-quality harvests even under challenging climatic conditions in steppe and southern forest-steppe regions. All these characteristics make NA Sunrise an optimal choice for oil production across various agroclimatic zones.
