Description Green Smoke
Medium-ripening variety, developed at the VNIIS named after I.V. Michurin by crossing the varieties Minay Shmyrev and Brodtorp. Breeders: K.D. Sergeeva and T.S. Zvyagina. Included in the State Register of Varieties Approved for Use in the Northwestern, Central, Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, Ural, West Siberian, and East Siberian regions in 2004.

Medium-height, slightly spreading bush. Growing shoots are medium thickness, straight, light green, glabrous. Woody shoots are medium, grayish-yellow, yellowish at the top. Buds are medium, elongated-oval, light brown, sit on a short stalk, slightly deviated from the shoot, solitary, leaf scar shape is rounded-triangular.

Leaf five-lobed, large, light green, glabrous, matte, leathery, smooth or slightly wrinkled, convex, blade positioned downwardly inclined, concave along the main vein, margin slightly uplifted. Leaf tips are sharp, central lobe almost equal to lateral lobes with additional protrusions, apex slightly deviated sideways. Lateral lobes widely spaced, angle between their midveins is right. Basal lobes strongly developed. Base is heart-shaped or straight with a small notch. Teeth are medium, sharp, short, incurved, with a clearly defined white "tip", serration is saw-toothed, petiole of medium length and thickness, with anthocyanin coloration on part of the petiole.

Flowers are medium, cup-shaped, with weakly expressed calyx, sepals reddish, free, curved in an arc. Inflorescences are medium and long (6-10 cm), conical shape, one or two per bud, medium density, straight, central axis straight, weakly pubescent, short pedicel.

Berries are medium and large (1.2-1.6 g), round, black, shiny, with medium number of elongated seeds, medium skin, dry detachable. Receptacle is round, medium, closed, peduncle medium length, straight.

Taste is sour-sweet (4.7 points). Berries are versatile. Chemical composition: dry extract substances — 18.9%, total sugars — 12.2%, titratable acidity — 2.9%, ascorbic acid — 192.0 mg/100 g, P-active substances — 1198.0 mg/100 g, pectin — 2.0%.

Winter-hardy, early-bearing, resistant to powdery mildew, suitable for mechanized cultivation, average yield 12.0 t/ha.

Advantages of the variety: early-bearing, large-fruited, high productivity, excellent taste of berries and processed products.

Disadvantages of the variety: insufficient resistance to bud mite.
