Rustler F1 is a late-maturing hybrid of yellow sweet corn, intended for harvest during summer and autumn. The vegetative period is approximately 76-84 days, making it suitable for fresh market and canning. The plant reaches a height of about 213 cm, with the first ear forming at a height of 72-76 cm. The ear has a cylindrical shape, length of 19 to 21 cm, and diameter of about 4.8-5 cm, with 16-18 rows of uniform kernels in shape and size.
The hybrid is characterized by high yield and stability, as well as strong recovery properties. It is adapted to various growing conditions and resistant to major sweet corn diseases such as helminthosporiosis, maize mosaic virus, bacterial wilt, powdery mildew, and fusarium. Due to these qualities, Rustler F1 ranks among the best super-sweet corn hybrids in terms of sugar content and retains excellent taste even under temperature fluctuations.
Rustler F1 can be grown either by direct sowing into open ground or through seedlings, with optimal sowing times in April under cover or in the first half of May in the field. The plant prefers warm climates and full sunlight, and is suitable for cultivation on most soil types, except overly wet or dry soils. This hybrid’s sweet corn can be consumed raw or cooked, added to salads and other dishes, or frozen for long-term storage.
