Raspberry AMALIA ROSSA

Italian Breeding for Professional Berry Production

The 'Amalia Rossa' raspberry, developed by the Italian company Berrytech S.R.L., is a variety specifically designed for high-quality commercial production in protected environments. With its mid-late ripening period, this variety allows growers to extend the harvest season, ensuring a steady supply of fresh berries when early-season varieties have already finished production.

Berry Quality and Logistics

The primary focus of 'Amalia Rossa' is the fresh market. The berries possess the structural integrity and firmness essential for modern retail. This high transportability ensures that the harvest can be shipped over long distances without compromising its aesthetic appeal or shelf life, making it a highly attractive choice for large-scale operations supplying supermarket chains.

Agronomic Features

The plant exhibits a semi-erect habit with a high number of current-season canes, ensuring dense fruit production. The presence of spines—which are sparse and small at the base—facilitates easier harvesting and minimizes fruit damage. The variety is adapted for cultivation across various agro-climatic zones, from the Steppe to the Polissya regions of Ukraine, provided it is grown in protected ground, allowing for precise climate control and consistent yields.

• Versatility: Suitable for both fresh consumption and processing.
• Marketability: Berries maintain their shape and vibrant color during storage and transport.
• Efficiency: Moderate leaf wrinkling and balanced plant development contribute to effective pollination and fruit growth.
