Rapeseed Persei

Persey: Ukrainian Winter Rapeseed Selection

The 'Persey' variety is a product of the research conducted by the Prykarpattia State Agricultural Research Station of the NAAS of Ukraine. In a market dominated by intensive foreign hybrids, Persey offers a reliable alternative for farmers looking for high plasticity and resilience against local climatic stressors. This winter rapeseed variety was specifically developed to provide stability in the Ukrainian soil and climate conditions, where unpredictable weather cycles can compromise sensitive crops.

Key Agronomic Features

The selection program focused heavily on winter hardiness and regenerative capacity. Persey is engineered to recover efficiently after the dormant winter period, which is crucial for maintaining optimal plant density throughout the spring. The primary advantages of this variety include:

• Excellent winter hardiness, ensuring high survival rates even after harsh winters.
• High oil content, meeting the quality standards required by industrial processors.
• Strong resistance to common Brassica diseases, reducing the need for intensive fungicide applications and allowing for more cost-effective crop management.

Morphologically, Persey is designed for uniform pod maturity. This trait significantly simplifies the harvesting process and reduces grain loss, a major concern for farmers dealing with high-biomass varieties. By choosing Persey, growers benefit from a proven variety developed by national scientific institutions, which provides a balance between yield potential and economic feasibility, reducing reliance on expensive international hybrid seeds.
