NS H 496 is a sunflower hybrid developed by the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad (Serbia) and registered in Ukraine since 2015. It is intended for oilseed production and has a vegetation period of 105 to 115 days, ensuring optimal maturation under various climatic conditions. The hybrid is characterized by high potential yield, exceeding 45 centners per hectare, making it a profitable choice for agricultural producers.
One of the key features of NS H 496 is its resistance to herbicides containing tribenuron-methyl, such as Granstar and Grozny Expert, allowing effective control of broadleaf weeds on fields with sunflower as a preceding crop. Plants reach a height of 170-180 cm, have a semi-downward-facing head, and black seeds. A branched and strong root system reaching up to 2.5 meters in depth ensures good nutrition and resistance to adverse conditions.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to lodging, drought, shattering, and a range of diseases, including fusarium, phomopsis, gray mold, and black mold. It is also tolerant to five races of downy mildew (Peronospora), significantly reducing the risk of yield losses. Thanks to its adaptability and ability to thrive under various growing conditions, NS H 496 is suitable for cultivation across all of Ukraine, providing stable and high yields.
