Petunia DARK CREPE DE CHINE NIGHT

Genetic Profile and Breeding Value

The 'Dark Crepe de Chine of the Night' variety is the result of fundamental research conducted by specialists at the N.K. Koltzov Institute of Developmental Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Unlike mass-market hybrids, this cultivar focuses on the stability of trait expression. Leveraging academic-level breeding achievements has enabled the achievement of predictable vegetative cycles and physiological resilience in landscaping environments.

Technical Vegetation Aspects

• Life Cycle: An annual culture with optimized metabolism focused on intensive flowering throughout a single season.
• Morphological Specialization: The plant is adapted for professional landscaping tasks, ensuring high foliage density and the ability to maintain aesthetic appeal during temperature fluctuations.
• Reproductive Stability: The patent holders (A.V. Shirokova, G.K. Kadorkina, R.G. Kostyanovsky, A.V. Kuzmina) integrated a genetic code that minimizes deviations from the phenotypic standard during large-scale cultivation.

The practical value of this variety lies in the predictability of its habit. In municipal or landscape gardening, this means uniform coverage without plant loss or loss of aesthetic appeal. The compactness and intensity of the petal coloration make it a preferred tool for creating color accents in complex floral arrangements.
