Description Nectar
Nectar is a bee-pollinated summer hybrid cucumber, intended for cultivation in spring-summer and summer-autumn rotations. Plants of this variety are characterized by strong growth and abundant branching, with mixed-type flowering on both main stems and side shoots. The cucumbers have a bumpy surface with white spines, 10–15 cm long, dark green coloration with short light longitudinal stripes. The taste qualities of the fruits are high, making them an excellent choice for fresh consumption and pickling. Fruit production begins on day 42–46 after germination, with male flowers appearing earlier and blooming for a longer period, ensuring effective pollination. The Nectar hybrid is resistant to a range of diseases, including olive spot, common cucumber mosaic, and powdery mildew, and also exhibits tolerance to downy mildew. For optimal plant formation, a standard pruning scheme is recommended. One Nectar plant is sufficient to pollinate 9–10 other bee-pollinated hybrids, making it an indispensable pollinator in greenhouse and open-field conditions. Cucumber is one of the oldest vegetables, consisting of 95% water and rich in beneficial microelements such as magnesium, copper, iodine, zinc, and phosphorus. Consumption of fresh cucumbers promotes improved cardiovascular and kidney function. Additionally, cucumber juice is widely used in cosmetology for preparing masks, tonics, and creams. Nectar hybrid seeds are suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions and provide a stable yield of high-quality fruits, making it popular among gardeners and farmers.
