Medium-maturing hybrid of sharp onion with red bulb color. Long-day onion, vegetation period 115-120 days. Onion retains its market qualities during storage up to 5 months. Bulb is round. One of the few red onion hybrids that withstands long-term storage, ideal for supermarket sales, uniform bulb size highlights the selling qualities of this hybrid. Very plastic hybrid. Noted for high growth energy in early development stages. Responds well to fertilizer application, while being resistant to cracking. Mildly pungent flavor; pungency decreases during the first month of storage. Dense outer scales provide excellent protection against mechanical damage during harvest. Resistant to pink rot and fusarium.
