Alfalfa Verko

German genetics for maximum forage yield

The 'Verko' alfalfa variety from Feldsaaten Freudenberger is designed for producers who prioritize high-protein fodder and substantial biomass output. Standing out in its category, Verko reaches a plant height of up to 150 cm, providing a significant volume advantage over standard varieties in intensive forage systems.

Key Advantages

• Superior Biomass: The impressive plant height ensures a greater yield per hectare, ideal for high-intensity harvesting schedules.
• Proven Pedigree: Developed by leading German institutions, including Feldsaaten Freudenberger and VEB Saat und Pflanzgut, this variety offers reliable field performance and consistent genetic stability.
• Growth Dynamics: Verko exhibits excellent regrowth potential after cutting, making it an efficient choice for multiple harvest cycles throughout the season.

Who is Verko for?

Verko is the optimal solution for livestock farms that demand high-quality forage to lower milk or meat production costs. Because of its vigor and 150 cm height, this variety thrives under well-managed agricultural practices. However, it requires precise timing; like many high-growth varieties, stems can lignify if harvesting is delayed, which can affect digestibility. Therefore, Verko is best suited for farming operations with streamlined harvesting logistics and a commitment to strict cutting schedules.
