Jasperinas

Jasperinas is a mid-late variety of iceberg-type head lettuce, developed by the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan. This variety is characterized by large, dense, and round heads weighing up to 700 grams, with well-covered leaves and no protruding veins. The leaves are medium-sized, green in color, kidney-shaped with a slight wavy edge and slits in the top part. The leaf rosette is semi-erect, about 35 cm high and 30 cm in diameter, which ensures ease of cutting and processing.

Jasperinas is characterized by slow development, which allows extending the harvesting and growing period throughout the season, especially during the summer. The variety has a powerful root system and developed foliage, allowing it to grow well even under unfavorable conditions. It responds positively to fertilization and regular watering, while not being prone to bolting, which improves crop quality.

A special advantage of the variety is high resistance to diseases and pests. Jasperinas is resistant to downy mildew, leaf and root lettuce aphid, as well as downy mildew. This makes it a reliable choice for growing in open ground and greenhouses. Thanks to these qualities and excellent internal structure, the lettuce is suitable for both packaging whole heads and processing.
