MAS 44A is a medium-maturing, tall hybrid sweet corn developed by the European selection of Mas Seeds. It is characterized by a dent kernel type and a stalk green plant type, ensuring stable vegetation and high yield. The hybrid has a medium plant height, with 14 to 16 rows of kernels and 34 to 38 kernels per row. The 1000-kernel weight is 340-360 grams, and its starch content and overall feed value are rated at level 8, making it versatile for use both as grain and silage.
The MAS 44A hybrid exhibits high resistance to major corn diseases, including common rust, ear fusarium, and southern rust, with tolerance ratings from 6 to 8 points. It also shows excellent drought tolerance, lodging resistance, and good water shedding, which helps preserve harvest quality and reduce losses during harvest. The recommended planting density varies depending on soil moisture: 65-75 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered areas and 55-65 thousand in dry conditions.
MAS 44A has a high yield potential, reaching up to 19 tons of grain per hectare, making it one of the most productive hybrids in its class. Thanks to its flexible ear and balanced agronomic traits, this hybrid is suitable for various agroclimatic conditions and can be effectively utilized for both grain production and green mass for silage. High emergence energy and stable vegetation ensure reliability and predictability in cultivation results.
