AS 240 is a high-yield hybrid of sweet corn with FAO 240, intended for grain and ethanol production. It features a cream-colored, dent-type kernel and medium plant height with strong ear attachment. The hybrid has a robust root system, ensuring efficient use of water and nutrients from deep soil layers, as well as excellent drought tolerance. Due to its strong stalk and high resistance to stalk and root lodging, AS 240 reduces harvest losses.
AS 240 is ideally suited for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions, and is recommended for planting at soil temperatures of +10 °C. The hybrid demonstrates rapid water uptake, which helps reduce drying costs for grain. Its high reproductivity (stay-green effect) allows for additional harvests under favorable conditions. Resistance to stalk diseases is rated 6 out of 9, providing additional protection for crops.
AS 240 is produced using Optimum® AQUAmax® technology, which maximizes available water use and increases yield. Seeds are supplied in packages of 80,000 units and are manufactured in France, Spain, and Ukraine. The hybrid is recommended for intensive and medium-intensity cultivation methods, making it an advantageous choice for modern farmers.
