Freedom F1

Red cabbage Freedom F1 — a medium-early, high-yielding hybrid developed by the Dutch seed company Seminis. This variety is intended for cultivation during spring-summer and summer-autumn periods, both in open and protected ground. Freedom F1 is distinguished by high resistance to various stress conditions, including heat, drought, excessive humidity, and short-term water shortages, making it suitable for different climatic zones, especially southern regions. The plant forms an elevated rosette with dark green protective leaves that reliably shield the heads from damage and ensure excellent product preservation. The maturation period is approximately 70–75 days from transplanting, enabling a quick harvest. The heads are uniform, crinkled, white or light cream-colored, weighing 1.5–2 kg. They feature high density and excellent storability, making this variety attractive for both fresh consumption and processing and winter preservation. Due to the uniformity of the heads and synchronized maturation, Freedom F1 is ideal for row planting and mass cultivation. The crop exhibits strong immunity and resistance to diseases such as fusarium, vascular bacteriosis, and powdery mildew when proper agronomic practices and preventive measures are followed. A key condition for successful cultivation is controlling soil pH to prevent clubroot infection. Crop care includes regular watering, loosening, weed removal, and organic and mineral fertilizer applications after transplanting seedlings. Freedom F1 demonstrates stable and high performance under various climatic conditions, confirming its reliability and quality.
