Ukrainochka viburnum is a popular variety of the common viburnum, distinguished by its high hardiness and unpretentious care. The plant reaches a height of 4 m and has a width of approximately the same size, making it an excellent decorative element in the garden or yard.
In May–June, 'Ukrainochka' blooms with large inflorescences of about 10 cm in diameter. The flowers have a pale green and white hue, are attractive and fragrant, adding special beauty to the plant. After flowering, in August–September, juicy red berries appear, with a diameter of 8–10 mm. Initially, they have a bitter taste, but after the first frosts, this characteristic aftertaste disappears or weakens.
Viburnum 'Ukrainochka' is grown in any type of soil and can grow in sunny or semi-shaded areas. It is resistant to various diseases and pests, making its care simple even for beginners. The berries are rich in vitamins, pectin, and tannins; they are used in making compotes, juices, jams, and also have diaphoretic, diuretic, and laxative effects.
