The efficacy of Confidor Maxi lies in its active ingredient, Imidacloprid, a prominent member of the neonicotinoid class. Unlike conventional contact-based insecticides that require precise coverage of the leaf surface, Imidacloprid acts as a systemic agent. It is absorbed by the plant tissues and translocated through the vascular system. Any pest attempting to feed on the plant's sap ingests a lethal dose, even if the chemical was not applied directly to the insect.

Cellular Mechanism of Action

The molecules function by blocking nicotinic acetylcholine receptors within the pest's nervous system.
