Tortril ® 225 EC — a reliable post-emergence herbicide for controlling annual broadleaf weeds in onion and garlic crops, specifically developed for protecting these crops.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Tortril ® 225 EC is a selective and highly effective post-emergence contact herbicide that acts only through the leaf surface.
The active ingredient in Tortril 225 EC — ioxynil — belongs to the nitrile chemical group and inhibits photosynthesis in weeds. Its effectiveness increases under conditions favorable to photosynthesis: temperatures above 10 °C, good light, air and soil moisture.
Herbicidal effect is noticeable within a few hours after spraying. Weeds’ leaves turn yellow and die. Complete death occurs within 8–15 days, sometimes up to 3 weeks.
GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Do not spray less than 4–6 hours before rain.
Do not spray weakened, damaged, or diseased plants, or during hot weather, drought, strong winds.
Do not perform inter-row treatments within a week after spraying.
Do not use in greenhouse conditions.
Do not use in tank mixtures.
