Systemic herbicide for broad-spectrum control of annual and perennial weeds on agricultural land and non-agricultural areas.
Desiccant for cereals, legumes, and sunflower.
Formulation and active ingredient:
Aqueous solution containing glyphosate salt, 480 g/l.
Chemical class:
Glycines.
Packaging:
Barrels of 10 and 20 liters.
Speed of action:
Initial signs of herbicide action appear on the 3rd–4th day as yellowing and browning of plants. Complete death occurs 7–14 days after application.
Mode of action:
The active ingredient, upon contact with vegetative green parts of weeds (leaves, stems), is translocated throughout all organs, disrupting synthesis of amino acids necessary for weed growth and metabolism, leading to complete death, including the root system. Total is only effective against actively growing weeds and does not affect plants that emerge after herbicide application.
Properties and advantages:
Economical and highly effective broad-spectrum herbicide;
Application during weed growth phase, prior to flowering, allows complete elimination of all persistent perennial weeds, including couch grass, pink clover, field bindweed, etc.;
Total is recommended for control of hydrophytic weeds (rushes, reeds, etc.);
Areas treated with Total and containing perennial weed infestations, according to application guidelines, should not be subjected to mechanical tillage until 10–14 days later. Otherwise, there may occur artificial "apical pruning" of the plant;
No residual soil activity;
Application does not disrupt crop rotation. Any crops can be sown after Total;
Can be used as a desiccant prior to harvest, improving grain quality by reducing moisture content and weed contamination;
Does not accumulate in the environment. In soil and water, it is actively (within 14 days) degraded by microorganisms into simple compounds (water, nitrates, phosphates, and carbon dioxide);
Application of Total in steam, fall, and minimum tillage systems reduces mechanical tillage costs, allows reduction in tillage frequency, thereby reducing soil erosion and improving soil moisture retention. Due to its unique chemical nature, it surpasses all known herbicides from other classes in spectrum of action.
Special features:
Total has no soil activity. Weed control in Mini-till and No-till systems during pre-emergence can be achieved using broad-spectrum herbicides. Safe application requires exclusive pre-emergence application (maximum 2–3 days prior to crop emergence). Also, application should not be conducted during pre-emergence period if heavy rainfall is expected, due to risk of leaching the product into lower (seed-placing) soil layers.
WHO classification, toxicological profile:
Class III (moderately toxic).
Shelf life and storage conditions:
Three years in sealed factory packaging at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C.
