Description Estet 905
Post-emergence herbicide based on 2,4-D for protecting cereal crops from broadleaf weeds

Active ingredient: 2,4-D acid as the 2-ethylhexyl ester
Chemical group: carboxylic acid derivatives
Formulation: concentrate emulsion containing 90 g/l of 2,4-D acid (complex 2-ethylhexyl ester)
Packaging: 20 L
Shelf life: at least 3 years
Hazard class: 2

ADVANTAGES

Excellent systemic herbicide: penetrates and spreads through the plant within an hour, blocking growth processes. Effective against many annuals and perennials, including those with root sprouts.
Outperforms all known 2,4-D analogs in world practice in terms of speed and potency of weed suppression.
Maximum effect compared to amine salts is achieved at lower (1.7-2.0 times lower) rates of 2,4-D acid per hectare.
Effect of the ester on weeds (visual effect) appears within 12-18 hours, which is 2-4 times faster than with amine salts and 10 times faster than with sulfonylureas.
Herbicide activity begins at +5ºC, whereas other compounds in this group require +8-12ºC.
Due to its high chemical purity, Estet 905 is virtually non-volatile, eliminating losses during application.
Compatible with other broadleaf herbicides, as well as grass herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, growth regulators, and fertilizers.
Rainfast: not washed off by rain within one hour after application. Effectiveness under drought conditions remains unchanged.
Does not freeze or crystallize at low temperatures (down to -20ºC), preserving original product quality.
INTENDED USE

Post-emergence systemic herbicide for use on cereal crops to combat annual and perennial broadleaf (dicot) weeds.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

The ester is rapidly absorbed by plant leaves, transported via phloem and xylem systems to meristematic tissues (growth points) throughout the plant and to newly formed organs. The product acts as an auxin, a natural hormone (indoleacetic acid) present in plants but accumulated in higher quantities; it disrupts nitrogen metabolism and enzyme synthesis. The half-life of the active ingredient is longer than that of natural auxin.

Upon application, plants become overloaded with synthetic hormones, leading to uneven cell growth and subsequent plant death. The herbicide is not washed off by rain within one hour after application. External symptoms include stem and leaf bending, thickening, twisting, wrinkling, petiole curvature, formation of additional roots, etc.

PROTECTIVE DURATION

Estet 905 kills sensitive weed species whose seedlings were present in the crop at the time of application.

SPEED OF ACTION

First signs of herbicide action appear within 2-3 hours after application, within 1-2 days for perennials. Complete weed elimination occurs within 3-7 days and beyond.

PHYTOXICITY

Phytotoxic to broadleaf (dicot) crop plants. Grasses, including cereal crops, are resistant. Highest resistance occurs during the tillering stage.

POSSIBILITY OF RESISTANCE DEVELOPMENT

Resistance in broadleaf weeds does not occur with 2,4-D-based herbicides. However, prolonged annual use may lead to accumulation of weed species in the agroecosystem showing resistance to 2,4-D.

COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER PESTICIDES

Estet 905 is compatible with most herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, growth regulators, and mineral fertilizers used on cereal crops, particularly with sulfonylureas, grass herbicides, dicamba, MCPA. In each case, especially when mixed with microfertilizers, chemical compatibility of mixed components must be tested in advance.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PROTECTION OF USEFUL FLORA AND FAUNA

Ecological characteristics: The substance is hazardous to harmful organisms. Non-hazardous to beneficial entomofauna. Low toxicity to birds (LD50 > 500 mg/kg). Practically non-toxic to bees (LD50 = 104.5 µg/bee), fish (LC50 > 100 mg/L for 2,4-D acid). Low toxicity to algae (EC50 = 33.2).

Toxicological characteristics: Moderately toxic to warm-blooded animals. Acute oral LD50 — 896 mg/kg.

Acute dermal LD50 > 2000 mg/kg. Hazardous upon contact with skin, eyes, esophagus, and respiratory tract. Does not possess sensitizing properties.

The following ecological regulations must be observed:

1) Apply the herbicide when wind speed is up to 4-5 m/sec;

2) Buffer zone for bees — not less than 1-2 km;

3) Bee flight restriction — 6-12 hours.

Use of the product is prohibited in sanitary zones around fishponds. Prevent contamination of water bodies with product and/or residual solutions and/or packaging.

APPLICATION RECOMMENDATIONS

Recommended application rate of working solution: 80-150 L/ha. To achieve maximum efficiency, the product must be applied using well-adjusted equipment and evenly distributed on leaf surfaces. It is recommended to use flat nozzles, which ensure average droplet size during spraying. After application, thoroughly rinse the sprayer and associated equipment with water.

Optimal temperature for application: from +8 to +25ºC. Avoid application if frost is expected during the night following treatment or immediately after.

Spray when weeds are actively growing, in the 2-10 leaf stage for annuals and 10-15 cm (rosette stage) for perennial broadleaf weeds.

ROTATION RESTRICTIONS

None. If necessary to terminate previously treated crops (e.g., high crop mortality due to frost, drought, disease, etc.), any crops may be sown on the same field after plowing.

STORAGE

Fire- and explosion-safe. Store in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area, separate from food, water, animal feed, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetic products.
